“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” – Proverbs 3:7
People who think they know it all tend to fall flat on their face at some point in their journey. Does this sound too much like the kind of wisdom you’d find in a fortune cookie? It does, doesn’t it? It almost seems too obvious. Well, it isn’t obvious enough, if you ask me. I’ve come across plenty of people who have relied way too heavily on what they perceive to be their own limitless “wisdom.” When you do that, lines tend to blur. This is why it’s best to go with the clearest approach. When you fear the Lord (and/or love Him) and shun evil, the line remains a lot clearer I’ve found.
